Pre-Marital and Marriage Coaching

Marriage is a major step and commitment for anyone. One portion of the traditional vow states, “It is therefore, not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly; but reverently, soberly and in the fear of God.” Soberly or thoughtfully suggests that a couple intending to marry should give careful thought to the journey on which they are about to embark.
Several challenges await married couples, but they are not exclusive to the marriage relationship. These have the potential to destroy any relationship if that relationship is not thoughtfully entered into and grounded in an understanding of relationship dynamics.
Recent CDC Marriage and Divorce research showed that nearly 40% of marriages in the US end in divorce or annulments. The American Psychological Association reports that about 40 to 50 percent of married couples in the United States divorce.

With this in mind, ITG offers research-based pre-marital and marriage coaching. The goal is to afford couples intending to get married an opportunity to objectively look at key factors that contribute to breakdown in relationships. Subsequently, they are able to determine the extent to which these factors may impact them and develop a framework for avoiding divorce.

A Thought on Marriage from Guideposts for Marriage
Love requires commitment, and commitment requires abandoning our exit strategies.
To celebrate his new calling and publicly display his commitment to God, Elisha threw himself a very unique going-away party. He slaughtered a yoke of oxen and cooked their meat by burning all his farm equipment.
He was symbolically and literally lighting fire to his exit strategy.

Bible Teaching

The principles laid out in the Word of God are essential for the growth and development of those who follow the Lord. ITG offers sound Bible teaching focused on the providing a clear understanding of Scripture with practical applications for daily living.

Scripture admonishes us to “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. A study of the Word brings knowledge. When we are secure in this knowledge we are equipped to walk in victory.”
Our goal is to provide clear understanding of life principles outlined in Scripture. 1Corinthians 1:5 “That in every thing ye are enriched by Him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge.” It is safe to say that we have the “knowledge.” However, what is often lacking is the application of the knowledge.
The writer of the Proverbs noted, Proverbs 2:3 “Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding.” The body of Christ must not only have knowledge, but the passion to apply the Word to their lives.
